The Madrigals
A five piece from London, The Madrigals make music that is influenced
by traditional English folk music but sounds more like Electrelene and
Sufjan Stevens. "Every song is a new and exciting adventure with
banjos being swapped for violins, guitars for xylophones and accordians
and it is all very exciting," said Tasty Zine, which sounds good
to us.

Electrophönvintage
A French six piece based in London, Electrophönvintage
pen swoonsome indie pop songs that recall the Go-Betweens and the recent
sound of young Sweden.

The Puncture Repair Kit
A six piece from Cambridge, The Puncture Repair Kit play joyous indie
folk that crams in nods to Gorky's, The Delgados and Belle & Sebastian.
"The best thing to come out of Cambridge since homosexuality,"
reckons Paul Heaton.

Lost Left
Rising from the ashes of former HDIF Presents stars, The Steadies, who
recalled the hazy folk of Nick Drake and The Clientele, London trio
Lost Left are a darker, more energetic affair. They say they "draw
on rambles in the Edale peaks and an admiration for greyhound dogs of
the mid-1980s", and are so new they haven't set up a MySpace page
yet. This is their debut gig.

Travelling to and from HDIF Presents
Worried about getting home after HDIF Presents? Don't be. Even though
the Victoria line shuts early on Thursday, it's very easy to get back
to north London. Here's how.
Jamm is at 261 Brixton Road, which is halfway between Oval and Brixton
tube stations. You can get a tube to either Oval or Brixton and then
walk, or the 133, 159, 59, 3, and 415 buses all stop directly outside
the venue. Coming back, the last tube from Brixton to Walthamstow leaves
at 10.11, and the last tube from Brixton to Seven Sisters leaves at
10.21. However, if you walk to Oval, you can pick up the northern line,
which is running normally. The last tube from Oval to High Barnet leaves
at 00.22, and the last tube from Oval to Morden leaves at 00.48.
Alternatively you can get a bus to a tube station. The 133 goes past
Oval, Kennington and Elephant & Castle. The 159 goes past Oval and
Lambeth North. The 59 goes past Oval, Lambeth North and Waterloo. The
3 goes past Oval and Westminster. And the 415 goes past Oval, Kennington
and Elephant & Castle. The bus stop is directly outside the venue,
and you never have to wait very long for a bus on Brixton Road. So although
the Victoria line is closing early, it shouldn't make any difference
to your journey home.
